Unlike other manufacturers’ “universal frames”, Smith Performance Specialties rear frame sections are custom designed and fitted for your particular application and then completely assembled and welded in special jigs in our shop. This assures accuracy, squareness, and the precision location of all brackets as well as reducing the time you must spend installing the rear section. S.P.S. frames are N.H.R.A. Super Stock legal.
Custom-designed rear sub-assembly kits include:
- rear frame section sub-assembly of 2″ x 3″ x .083″ tubing with full cross member
- rear frame rails
- full-width dropped crossmember with brackets and tubing
- Smith Performance Specialties 4-link rear suspension complete with:
- laser cut º” brackets
- seamless links are 1º” x 095″ chrome moly “Pro Stock” style links with left and right hand adjustments
- precision fit teflon lined rod ends
- wishbone track locator
- all hardware, plated Grade 8 or precision AN with nylock nuts
- specify equal or unequal length 4-link
- rear frame section sub-assembly of 2″ x 3″ x .083″ tubing with full cross member

Smith Performance Specialties front sub-assembly consists of a front sub-frame stripped with seams rewelded, ground, and trimmed as well as the installation of new rack and pinion mounts. Left and right lower A-arms are stripped, rewelded, and new lower ball joints are installed. The kit is engineered so that caster-camber is preset, the front end stagger is built in, and bump steer is eliminated.

Lightweight aluminum strut mounts designed to locate GT strut for correct caster & camber of struts. Spun aluminum upper cup provides spring location and spun aluminum lower adapter adapts spring to strut adjustor. The kit comes complete with nylon/urethane bushings and all hardware to mount GT strut to conversion strut tower.

S.P.S. offers this new OEM replacement 71-72 Pinto rack and pinion. Factory mounting locations make professional installation possible. This unit features a chrome center tube and a polished housing. Available with tie-rod extensions, left-hand chrome moly adapters, bump steer bushings, and hardware.

Smith Performance Specialties has worked many years to develop the correct spring to work with these front wheel drive cars. With the motor forward, the springs are designed for maximum energy storage critical to helping these cars leave the starting line. They fit in stock strut tower and clear tire and wheel combinations with Strange GT struts. SPS developed springs are rate tested and matched in pairs. Consumers must beware of inferior, imitated models. Springs are available in different rates by calling for your particular application. All pairs are zinc dichromate plated for appearance

Adjustable cable limiter kit is used to control front end travel in the race car. Limiter is easily adjusted on the car in 1/4” increments for fine tuning. Specifically made for GT struts with extra brackets to mount limiter kit correctly, relieving pressure on lower A-arms and ball joints.
